Licensing policies
Intro
As an academic publisher owned by a university we do seek opportunities to mobilize our content for research purposes.
Author licensing
In general we support authors reusing material in ways that complements their original publication, for example, in reusing journal articles for collected volumes or to adapt as chapters in books. If you are an NUS Press author and are in any doubt on these matters, please reach out to your editor.
Webscrapes
Given the uncertain landscape for webscraping and text and data mining, and the many issues involved in using copyrighted and authored content for AI training, we are currently reserving our content from being used for text and data mining for commercial purposes, via the W3C TDM reservation protocol. We urge other publishers and aggregators to make use of this standard.
