In recognition of the rapid growth of quality scholarship in East and Southeast Asia, NUS Press, Kyoto University Press and the Kyoto University Center for Southeast Asian Studies inaugurated this series in 2009, in order to promote and make this fine scholarly output available globally. We aim to produce works that will make significant contribution to the field of Southeast Asian studies, with clear and concise arguments on relevant questions in the field. The refereeing process is overseen jointly by the publication committee at Kyoto CSEAS and NUS Press, with reviews by top scholars in the field.
