IRASEC Studies of Contemporary Southeast Asia

This series brings academic research to bear on topics of broader interest in contemporary Southeast Asia. Recent titles have focused on social change in Myanmar and Brunei's political economy.

Books are originated in cooperation with the Institut de Recherche sur l'Asie du Sud-Est Contemporaine (IRASEC), or Research Institute on Contemporary Southeast Asia, an institution under the French Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) and the Foreign Affairs Ministry of France. IRASEC research covers politics, society, the economy and the environment, as well as regional integration dynamics, among and between the 11 countries of Southeast Asia. IRASEC has researchers in each country covered, with its headquarters in Bangkok.
